Biografia
The artist Silvio Cannizzo was born in Niscemi Sicily on February 7th 1951. After completing his art studies he moved to Venice where he began his career as an artist, furthering his knowledge and perfecting the charcoal technique.
He lived for one year in Sweden, where he further developed the techniques of oil and water-colour painting.
Whilst here he received much sincere personal praise from the public and art gallery managers, such as Kurt Svensson, with whom he worked. He also held a personal exhibition dedicated to Venice at the Leksands Spar Bank.
On his return to the artistic lagoon city of Venice, Silvio opened an art gallery where he has developed the copperplate engraving techniques of etching and aquatint, in addition to mask-making.
1991 he became a member of the San Marco Artists Association. The video study Masks in Venice by the productor Duegi featured the artistic and pictorial techniques of this artist.
Local and national papers in Italy and abroad, including The Gazzettino of Venice, The review of The C.N.A. of Veneto.
The Globo (Australia), La Fiamma (Australia), The Age (Australia), La Pays Gessien (Switzerland), Le dauphine (Switzerland), Wien live Magazin (Austria), Wor Magazin (Austria) etc.,
have published articles describing the artist’s success on the above occasions for his brilliant and warm colours used in his paintings dedicated to Venice,
so as in his personal works where the fusion of the real elements transform the reality in a surreal vision.
Silvio Cannizzo has taken part in numerous personal and joint exhibitions, gaining awards and high praise from the public and art critics alike:
Gold medal and gold plaque winner in the various editions of the National Exhibition of Foggia.
April 1992: Exhibition at The Elgin Gallery of Carlton" Victoria" in Australia in The presence of The Italian Consul.
August 1992: Joint Exhibition of “San Marco Artists Association" in Venice.
March 1993: Exhibition at the Congress Centre of Angers. (France).
May 1993: Personal exhibition at the Elgin Gallery of Carlton. (Australia).
July 1993: Personal exhibition at the Museum of San Valery Normandy (France).
April 1994: International exhibition of Art Graphics at The Elgin Gallery (Australia) with artists from Russia, New Zealand Australia, England and Italy represented by Silvio Cannizzo.
April 1995: Personal exhibition in Vienna (Austria)
September 1996: Exhibition at the American International exhibition of Art Graphics at The Elgin Gallery (Australia) with artists from Russia, New Zealand Australia, England and Italy represented by Silvio Cannizzo.

March 1997: Exhibition at the W.T.O. (World Trade Organization) in Geneva (Switzerland) in The presence of the Italian Consul and other diplomatic persons.

October 1998: Exhibition at Noga Hilton of Geneva (Switzerland)

Settembre 2016: Guest of honor at Fiuggifor the final of Miss Spettacolo dove la vicitrice viene premiata con un'opera dell'artista realizzato per tale occasione.
2017 : Exhibition for the award ceremony of"The Miss Stars" at Vigevano.
