The artist Silvio Cannizzo was born in Niscemi Sicily on February 7th 1951. After completing his art studies he moved to Venice where he began his career as an artist, furthering his knowledge and perfecting the charcoal technique. He lived for one year in Sweden, where he further developed the techniques of oil and water-
Local and national papers in Italy and abroad, including The Gazzettino of Venice, The review of The C.N.A. of Veneto. The Globo, La Fiamma, The Age (Australia), La Pays Gessien, Le dauphine (Switzerland) etc., have published articles describing the artist’s success on the above occasions for his brilliant and warm colours used in his paintings dedicated to Venice so as in his personal works where the fusion of the real elements transform the reality in a surreal vision. His works are to be found in many public galleries and private collections in Italy and abroad.
Silvio Cannizzo has taken part in numerous personal and joint exhibitions, gaining awards and high praise from the public and art critics alike:
Gold medal and gold plaque winner in the various editions of the National Exhibition of Foggia.
April 1992: Silvio held an exhibition at The Elgin Gallery of Carlton" Victoria" in Australia in The presence of The Italian Consul.
August 1992: Joint Exhibition of “San Marco Artists Association" in Venice.
March 1993: Exhibition at the Congress Centre of Angers. (France).

July 1993: Personal exhibition at the Museum of San Valery Normandy (France).
